Every legend has a beginning. We asked @Hagentoons about the roots of Audrey's design and how a character inspired by classic anime aesthetics evolved into a modern masterpiece.
Q: How Audrey was created?
"Where did the initial inspiration come from?"
@Hagentoons: "I think it started with the first drawings of Audrey when I was in my teens. I wanted to make a funny story involving sexy female characters, and I was inspired by Rumiko Takahashi's artstyle back in the day."

Q: What kind of personality or charm did you want to express through Audrey?
@Hagentoons: There’s an Audrey designed for NSFW content—she can have any personality there—but in the canonical story, she is a strong character who fights to protect the weak and hates injustice.
Q: What was your first feeling when you saw Audrey turned into a physical product?
@Hagentoons: I was very excited to see Audrey turned into a figure, especially because it’s very loyal to the original design. I can’t wait to have it on display in my studio.
Q: Was there a specific moment during creation when you felt, “This is Audrey”?
@Hagentoons: I made hundreds of drawings, but I think it was when I designed her hair and attire that I knew people would recognize her, even though she doesn’t have a weird or peculiar design.
Q: If Audrey could hear what fans say, how would she react?
@Hagentoons: She would be very shy for sure, because all I’ve seen are compliments!
